Family Violence Prevention, Intervention, Programming, & Evaluation

Christine Hagion is an expert in family violence (domestic abuse, sibling violence, incest, child abuse and neglect, elder abuse, and sexual assault), and in complex trauma.

Christine was the founder of The Ripple Effect, a non-traditional domestic violence agency based in San José, California). She served as its director for over 15 years, ministering to hundreds of abuse victims—most of whom were Christians. The Ripple Effect’s mission was to promote social change through education, research, and advocacy, with the goal of ending relationship violence through a public health approach.

She served for two 3-year terms on the Child Abuse Prevention Council, and another two 3-year terms on the on the Domestic Violence Council (both commissions of the Board of Supervisors for Santa Clara County). Christine also served on the  Family/Domestic Violence Task Force (later renamed the Family Violence Advisory Board)  for the City of San José from its inception in 1997, until the sunset of the program in 2012.
